By popular demand, we're excited to introduce Bright Sparks, a new hybrid program for kindergarten and first grade, launching this October.

Bright Sparks was created for gifted and bright young children who are ready to reach beyond what a typical classroom offers. In a small, nurturing group led by an experienced and passionate teacher, children explore literature-rich thematic units where arts and STEM come alive through hands-on, minds-on learning.

Is Bright Sparks Right for Your Child?

If you've ever wondered whether your child needs a little more than a typical classroom can offer, you're not alone. See if this sounds familiar:

✦   Asks endless questions, and isn't satisfied with simple answers

✦   Gets restless or bored when things move too slowly

✦   Becomes deeply absorbed in a favorite topic, sometimes for weeks on end

✦   Reads, reasons, or solves problems beyond their age

✦   Has a big vocabulary and loves putting it to use

✦   Feels things intensely, big ideas and big emotions alike

✦   Notices patterns, connections, and details that others miss

✦   Would rather figure something out than simply be told the answer

If you found yourself nodding along, Bright Sparks may be exactly the place your child has been waiting for.

Other factors determining if this may be a good fit for your child are below, but are not flexible. My child is:

• Age 5 or 6 years old

• Can work independently for short periods (10 minute or more)

• Is well behaved, works nicely with others, and does not need behavioral interventions

• Potty-trained

• Is showing advanced academic potential

• ·Gifted identification scores not needed to apply

A Place to Be Seen, Not Just Challenged

Bright children don't only think differently, they often feel more deeply, too. Their questions are bigger, their curiosity is fiercer, and their emotions can run just as strong. Too often, these are the children who hear that they're "too much."

At Bright Sparks, they're just right. Here, your child's big questions and big feelings are equally welcome, met with warmth, patience, and genuine understanding. We nurture the whole child, because a confident, emotionally secure learner is a child free to think boldly and love learning for life.

How Bright Sparks Works

Bright Sparks is a hybrid program, thoughtfully designed around how young children actually learn best, in focused bursts, with plenty of room to explore.

Twice a week, children work directly with our teacher in a small, hands-on setting where big ideas take center stage. Between those sessions, our teacher provides extended learning activities to continue at home, carefully chosen to build on what happened in class and spark new curiosity.

This is where the partnership really comes to life. You're not handed a stack of just busywork to do outside of class; you're given targeted, meaningful, work that lets you be part of your child's discoveries. Together, we create a rhythm of learning that flows between school and home and helps your child see that learning isn't something that only happens in a classroom.

In person: Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM   |   At home: extended learning that continues the adventure

Children can also participate in our Fun Friday Enrichment programs as well as come back in the afternoons for after school clubs and activities.

Our Learning Approach

Learning at Bright Sparks is built around literature-rich thematic units. A great book or a big question anchors each unit, and everything radiates out from there, hands-on projects, arts, and STEM woven together so children aren't just hearing about ideas, they're building, making, and exploring them. It's academically serious and genuinely joyful at the same time. That's what Love Learning looks like at five and six. Social and emotional supports are incorporated into everyday to encourage kids to think about not only their learning, but themselves as a whole, and how to interact and work well with others.

A Small Group, by Design

Class size is deliberately very limited, and that's the whole point. A small group is what makes real individualization possible: knowing each child, adjusting on the fly, and letting them work at the level they're actually ready for. Because spaces are intentionally limited, we encourage interested families to reach out early.

Why We Built Bright Sparks

Over the years, I've watched so many bright young children arrive already a little dimmed, bored, misunderstood, or quietly convinced that school isn't for them. It doesn't have to be that way. Bright Sparks exists to catch these children early, while their curiosity is still wide open, and to give them a place where being bright, being curious, and being deeply themselves is exactly what's celebrated. My hope is simple: that every child who walks through our door leaves loving to learn, not because we told them to, but because we never gave them a reason to stop. I also found an amazing teacher who I would want if I had a child in Kindergarten!
